Constructive Meeting with Shona Robison MSP

Representatives of SOPA - Helen Biggins, Tom Berney, Margaret Murdoch and Glenda Watt met at the Scottish Parliament with Shona Robison MSP (centre) on 24 April. This was the first meeting with Ms Robison since her appointment was extended to Cabinet Secretary for the Commonwealth Games, Sport, Equality and Pensioners' Rights in April. Also present from the Scottish Government (far left) were Mike Liddle (Integration and Reshaping Care) and Cathy Hewit (Equality Unit). A number of important issues were raised by the Minister in connection with her Pensioners' Rights responsibilities, not least that she plans to amplify the voice of older people in the Cabinet, act as a conduit and coordinate SOPA's issues.
